Note: At Green Tomato Market, our farm-fresh cheeses are crafted in small batches, so they don’t always come with a printed expiration date like store-bought cheeses. Because they’re free from preservatives, their shelf life can vary depending on how they’re stored and the specific type of cheese.
We recommend keeping the cheese refrigerated and using it within 7-10 days after opening for fresh cheeses (like goat cheese) and up to 3 weeks for aged cheeses. If it develops an off smell, visible mold (unless it’s a mold-ripened cheese), or a change in texture, it’s a sign it may no longer be fresh.
Our farm-fresh cheeses offer the best flavor when consumed fresh, but we’re always happy to provide tips on storage or answer any questions you may have!
